Continuing Professional Development in Digital Education for VET (COVET)

ASIE has recently become a partner within a new Erasmus+ project entitled Continuing Professional Development in Digital Education for VET (COVET). The project lasts 24 months, starting March 2021 until February 2023.

The new type of education, the online training experimented on a large scale mainly due to Covid-19 crisis has turned teachers of different subjects into IT&C experts. This project intends to develop a Continuous professional development program (CPD program) for VET teachers and trainers to provide upskilling of the VET teachers and trainers in digital competencies that enable design of online lessons and their quality delivery to the VET students.

The main result of the project will be the ADAPTATION OF THE EDUCATORS TO THE REQUIREMENTS OF QUALITY DIGITAL TEACHING and will be achieved by creation of two tangible intellectual outputs in form of “products” and several other outputs, outcomes and impacts, as follows:

INTELLECTUAL OUTPUTS (products):

  • IO1: ANALYSIS OF the VET TEACHERS’ NEEDS (Study)
  • IO2: Digital training delivery in VET (part 1 – CPD program for VET staff, part 2 – Instruction set of sample online VET lessons, part 3 – Program web-page)

OTHER OUTPUTS (immediate results achieved soon after the completion of the projects and its activities)

  • improvement of the teaching/training skills of at least 91 trainers/teachers;
  • improvement of the awareness of 660 people (managers/teachers involved in the project activities) of the potential and usability digital training delivery;

ProEduca z.s. is a small private association of professional teachers providing supporting services, (mainly trainings for education staff and youth) to schools and non-profit organizations in education. ProEduca has worked in 16 different projects aimed at improvement of the educational system during the last 11 years. These projects were aimed at various issues in education such as curricula modification and development of new training programs for specific target groups (senior learners, unemployed people, teachers, employers, young people etc.).

Archivio della Memoria (Italy) is a cultural association founded in 2002 that carries out historical, anthropological and sociological research activity in social and cultural fields, traditions and knowledge. AdM operates both in urban areas and in small towns, in Italy and abroad, actively interacting with local communities.

SBTC is a Turkish SME committed to the promotion of innovation and enhancing the spirit of entrepreneurship. Since its establishment, SBTC has been oriented towards that direction and has implemented a number of actions and initiatives, which have made the institution a highly specialised organisation.

Limerick Institute of Technology (LIT) is an institution of higher education in Limerick funded by the Government of Ireland and set up under the IOT legislation (one of 13 such institutes in Ireland). LIT has five campuses and learning centres across Limerick, Tipperary and Clare in the Mid West Region of Ireland for a total of 610 staff members

Northern Regional College is the main provider of further education across four of the 11 council areas in Northern Ireland UK, covering a population of over 560,000. They offer a comprehensive range of qualifications for school leavers, full and part-time courses for adults, apprenticeships, professional qualifications and university accredited courses as well as providing a range of business services to support the business community. They are one College with six campuses – Ballymoney, Ballymena (Farm Lodge and Trostan Avenue), Coleraine, Magherafelt and Newtownabbey.

The Daniel Castelao Professional Training Center was founded in 1975. It has 31 workers, of which 26 are teachers and 5 administration and services personnel. Every school-year
they attend around 300 students. The degrees which are taught at the school, belong to the three levels that the Ministry of Education recognises in the Spanish System: Vocational
Training for Basic Vocational Training, Middle Level Vocational Training Cycles and Higher Vocational Training Cycles.
All the studies are framed within three different professional families: Administration and Business, Information Technology and Electricity and Electronics.
